Welcome
The Ammonium Nitrate / Nitric Acid Producers Study Group (ANNA) is an informal internation
al organization of manufacturers of Ammonium Nitrate and Nitric Acid with the goal of promoting networking within the industry.
The ANNA group has a rich history of bringing know-how, technology and experience together to address the current issues and concerns of the industry. This allows the ANNA to seek the best practices, innovations and practical solutions to promote the success of the industry as a whole.
ANNA has two purposes
- To organize a meeting for producers of AN and NA worldwide and to facilitate open discussions on shared process, plant, maintenance, regulation and safety issues.
- To organize a platform wherein producers of ANNA can network among themselves and with the specialized suppliers that serve this industry.
The yearly meeting attracts more than 250 mainly technical and safety experts from the NA and AN industries worldwide and has become the ultimate conference for these people. The conference is organized by an executive in a close cooperation with a host company being itself an AN and NA producer and by a group of exhibitors/vendors serving the two industries and sponsoring the conference. This set-up is unique and has created impressive results. The ANNA conference consists of an ammonium nitrate section which deals with AN solution and particulation technology, safety and environmental issues, and a nitric acid section dealing in particular with production technology, emission abatement and actual operational issues in the NA industry.

The ANNA Executive Committee is pleased to announce that the 2013 Meeting will be held at the Melia Villaitana Hotel in Benidorm, Spain, overlooking the stunning Mediterranean Costa Blanca. This year’s event begins with a Welcome Reception Sunday, September 22 and concludes with a special plant tour Friday, September 26. In between, host company Fertiberia and Exhibit Hall/event coordinator Tecnicas Reunidas Espindesa are developing a well-balanced program, with a few unique twists, that is sure to set a new standard for future meetings.
ANNA 2013 will include roundtable discussions and presentations focused on vital safety, process, and environmental issues for nitric acid and ammonia nitrate facilities. Organizers are planning information-packed sessions, featuring more than 20 technical papers on both Ammonium Nitrate and Nitric Acid topics, presented in an interactive format that promotes discussion. Watch for a preliminary agenda (subject to change) on this web site in early May.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities in a very inviting, relaxing setting. Fertiberia will host an opening night regionally-inspired reception at the lovely Melia Villaitana Hotel (our conference site). The Exhibitor Group will follow that event, hosting dinners Monday (offsite at an authentic Spanish rancho), Tuesday, and Thursday evenings (including special Spanish shows). As always, the vendors will have more than a few surprises in store for the producer company delegates.
Special offsite activities include karting (miniature race cars), tour excursions and a golf scramble on a scenic course that enthusiasts won’t want to miss. A spousal program has also been organized for attendees who bring that significant other with them to this special location. ANNA 2013 offers the chance to mingle with peers, customers, and suppliers in a relaxed setting and so much more.
Registration is set to launch on May 1, 2013. Producers and vendors will have a limited opportunity to take advantage of a significant early bird discount that will end on June 15. As an added incentive to exhibitors, you will have the chance to select your table location, based on your regonline.com payment date/time.
